Accessibility Statement
Last Updated: 1st May 2026
At She Hits Different, we believe everyone deserves the chance to step into the ring and put in the work. We are actively committed to ensuring our digital space is accessible to all fighters, regardless of ability or the assistive technology they use to navigate the web.
1. CONFORMANCE STATUS
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define the exact requirements for developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. She Hits Different is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA. "Partially conformant" means that while we strive for total accessibility, some parts of the content may not fully conform at all times due to the heavy, high-contrast visual nature of our brand, but we have implemented robust alternatives to ensure nobody is blocked from booking a session.
2. THE TECH STACK
The accessibility of the She Hits Different platform relies on the following standard web technologies to work with your browser and assistive plugins:
HTML
WAI-ARIA
CSS
JavaScript
3. OUR MEASURES
We don't just talk about accessibility; we have built it into the architecture of the site:
Clear Architecture: We use strict heading structures to ensure screen readers can navigate the content and class schedules logically.
Alt Text Strategy: All meaningful images, including shots of the gym and equipment, include descriptive text. Decorative brand elements are hidden from screen readers to reduce unnecessary noise.
Keyboard Navigation: The platform and checkout systems are navigable via keyboard interfaces for users who cannot use a mouse.
Stark Contrast: We maintain aggressive contrast distinctions between our text and backgrounds to meet or exceed WCAG AA standards for visual clarity.
Motion Sensitivity: Our site may use dynamic video and scroll effects to showcase the energy of the gym. We respect the prefers-reduced-motion CSS media query, meaning if you have system-level motion restrictions enabled on your device, our heavy animations will automatically pause.
4. LEGISLATIVE COMPLIANCE
Our digital infrastructure is designed to align with UK law, specifically the requirements set out in The Equality Act 2010.
5. FEEDBACK & SUPPORT
If you hit a roadblock while trying to navigate the site or book a session, we want to know about it. Please let us know if you encounter any digital accessibility barriers so we can fix them.
